so I reset my wireless, but now it is unsecured and the stupid not connected light is blinking on the airport plug.  I am connected to the internet, but I want to rename/secure my network.

wut do?

dunno what airports default to, but might try in your browser going to http://192.168.1.1 to get to the web interface to change crap around

chunkles:  you mean plug the machine straight in and bypass the wireless?  How would that help?

yeah, that was the only way I could secure/rename my network back.  It was a super shitty router, though.

if it's an older router, then yeah, hook it straight up to a laptop or something via ethernet cable, and then go to the link provided above.  should let you change any settings on it.

newer ones come with built in default network names and passwords, usually displayed on a sticker or something on the router itself.
