When I was a kid, my parents and all there college friends had a party on New Years Day with all the bow games on. Now, there are now more than three games on the same day. Every bowl wants it's own day to increase advertising revenue and it's ruining the country! Not republicans or democrats or health care but college bowl games! I remember when bowl games had names...it was called the 1950's through the 1990's. Now, each bowl had major sponsers and sometimes those changed...Southwestern Bell Cotton Bowl to AT&T but at least it's still the cotton bowl. What happened to the other bowl games that have lost their classic and tradition rich names to Corporate sponsers? I miss the old days, football was better then and more than seven teams had a shot at a national title. Was it perfect no! But though a playoff gives the Oklahoma State and Boise State's a chance I feel it still favors the top and newly traditional seven powers. I want the old college football back, not the one where big time money buys championships but hard working players and great coaches did, where being a coach was more important to winning than being a good recruiter. That is all.
