student section tickets for non-students
« on: May 11, 2012, 06:20:00 PM »
how does this work now?  12 years ago was the last time i got student tickets and you got a paper ticket and had to have a (not yours) k-state ID to get in.

my friend wants to go to fb and bb games with me this year, and i know a student/acquaintance that isn't really into sports and doesn't use his tickets at all.   do you just get a card now instead of a sheet of paper tickets?  can you still get in with anyone's ID, or is the ID not even needed anymore?

TIA, it's very important information to know.

They don't do paper tickets.  This past season they started to use cards.  Students have to go pick them up and you use that card for all games.  Student IDs are hit and miss.  Some ticket scanners don't care if you have one, some will ask to see one but it can be anyone's ID.

does the ID get swiped or anything?

can i "lose" mine and get a new one and he uses the old one, so i don't have to bother the acquaintance with getting his id every game?

The ticket card gets scanned every game.  The ticket people just look at the ID, they don't actually do anything with it.  You can pay to get a 2nd ID and just let your friend use one of yours.  I know people who do that.

Yes.  If you just graduated, you could have been a 5th, 6th, 7th, etc. year and the ticket takers would be none the wiser.

Just have your friend register for classes at K-State, get his own ID, then drop the classes immediately afterward for a full refund.

I'll take an extra card.  If I need an ID I will just borrow from some other really handsome guy with baby blue eyes and huge guns.

Hm...I'm not sure if that would work.  I wonder if the fat cats in Anderson hall would get wise.
