A couple low-level employees in my office just sent out a mass invite to their University of Phoenix graduation.  What's the protocol for this?  fanning?

 You'll go to some "convention center". Dress casual. You'll listen to a few speeches (probably by nobody important), they'll grab there diplomas, and you'll be on your merry way. If nothing else, hand them a card with a $20 in it.

:flush:  I'll actually have to be in the office that Saturday fixing one of many eff-ups, some of which were likely committed by your fellow fighting rising phoenixes.

Ha. I'm sorry. They pay the bills though, so don't hate. That's weird, KC had their graduation last week, I wonder why Wichita is a week behind. tell them from one phoenix to another, congrats.

our 8th grade graduation was filled with everyone crossing the stage awkwardly, winning at least one "achievement" - ie "placed Satisfactory in the state math assessment!!!!!!!", and one korean kid in our class getting about 30 accolades more than everyone else  :shakesfist: ...nothing more than that, really.
gave us a good outlook on who would drop out in the next four years, and who would find any way to stay at the top. really beneficial.

I'd tell them that they are now overqualified so you will have to let them go. Also, that company email is not to be used for personal reasons.

Over lunch today, my boss asked the group of coworkers "how long do you think a rough ridin' 8th grade graduation will take?"  The consensus was 2-3 hours.

The bad part...  his daughter is in 7th grade and was elected by the 8th graders as an usher or something to help walk the older kids to tne stage.

Poor guy.

Pretty sure you can skip an 8th grade graduation that your 7th grade daughter is ushering and still be a good father.

Reason #1 ben ji would be a bad parent.

I would drop the kid off an pick them up.

I think the middle school I went to back in the day just recently as of last year maybe, started doing a "cap and gown" promotion thing? Yeah, we walked across a stage with nice clothes on and got a handshake and a certificate, it was also called our 8th grade PROMOTION as in we were being promoted to high school. We also had a special 8th grade promotion dance/game room kind of thing... but that it. and the way it should be. No cap and gown or individual party bull crap!!! Its STUPID

We did the cap and gown and it was pretty sweet. We also got out of school about a week earlier than everyone else. Why do you guys hate 8th graders?

Nobody hates 8th graders, we just hate their cap and gown graduation ceremonies.

Don't like it, don't go. I say let the kids have their fun.
