It's like I'm a little kid and my parents are on the rocks but they're building this brand new house for our family anyway. Then dad decides to leave because mom is being a total irrational bitch. So she goes and finds the biggest dweeb she can at the local ice cream shop to be her new husband, who inherits dad's house, and spills chicken nuggets all over the new suede couches....then he giggles about it and says something like, "it's just a couch"
