the story failed to mention that, once outside of the bar, the young smokers ran from the police, and were later caught.  that's why Big Pun kicked them off the team, they couldn't outrun LPD's finest.

Kick some guys off of the team that were recruited by the previous regime, gets them all fired up about how "tough" he's being and gets everybody all  :excited: about the new boss in town.

Mangino did the same thing.

maybe the two players were just practicing how they would act if they won a conference game.

go out to the bars.  get drunk, smoke.  commit crimes, run away.
