Lots of talk lately in the media about Sutton and Samuels being the key to our success, and it sort of annoys me. I mean, hasn't it been obvious for months now that this is the case?
Clemente and Pullen bring the same thing to the table every game. If they're hitting shots, it certainly helps, but the team can still win when they aren't.
The "true" bigs are somewhat consistent. Kelly has his lapses, but he's still good for 10 and 5 just about every night out and his defense isn't too brutal either. Wally is still a foul-fest but brings sick athleticism, JHR is long and mucks things up, and Lu can be an enforcer (in small doses).
Energy and McGruds are what they are at this point, as are Irving and Russell - guys that know their roles.
But you just never know what the hell you're going to get out of Sutton or Samuels. I firmly believe that when those two are "on", we are pretty much unbeatable. When one is on and one is off, we're vulnerable. When both are off, we're going down, and we're going down hard. So why is the media running with this now? Because of the last two games? I've got news for everyone: we go as our wings go. This has pretty much always been the case under Martin/Huggins and it probably always will be. Why the heck do they think Martin recruits that kind of player so hard? It's not for their rogueish good looks and wonderful smell (though those things DO help).
I dunno. /rant
