the French Riviera

who's been? for a few days, with the goal of relaxation and leisurely sightseeing, where is the best place to set up camp? Nice? Monaco? Eze? other?

Nice.  They have affordable 3-4 star hotels.  Monaco is somewhat boring compared to Nice.  Walk around and go to every cafe/bar that is interesting and taste a wine or beer then window shop.  Pretty much the best way to handle things.  The beaches are not that nice if you've been to any nice beach ever.  Sunset meal would be only positive there.  Go to the castle in Monaco.
