Defense so far looks much better after 5 games than any of Frank's other teams this early in the season.  Help defense has been pretty good, and they've minimized defensive fouls in the lane.

having JO lurking in the paint waiting to swat bitches crap certainly helps the defense.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

for some reason the flow of our offense didn't annoy me last night.

I agree - at least in the 2nd half.  Imagine if we had a guard (not named Sprawlding) who could hit an open, uncontested shot.  Imagine it.

I still think our passing angles into the post are pretty horrible.  But, one the whole, I thought we moved the ball well and got open looks out of our offense.  Also nice to see some DOBs (dunks on bitches) from our bigs.  Even Gipper had a DOB.

PP: All the LOL JYC moments - two or three balls that went 30 feet into the air, sprad's behind the back stomach pass, Shane's missed three, etc.

PP: A new term for JO:
JO lurking in the paint waiting to swat bitches crap

probably one of the most appalling basketball shots I have ever seen in my life.

people that are talking about running off williams and/or lawrence.  there aren't many minutes available to non ball handling guards unless two of jo, samuels and gippy start to suck and they decide to play small.  unless that happens, mcgruder is going to get just about all the non ball handling guard minutes that there are to be had.

just because they aren't playing much doesn't mean they aren't good, just that they aren't better than mcgruder.

I think Rodney is being told to be the leader.  I don't think Rod fits the prototypical watch me lead player profile.  He seems much more comfy and much more productive in playing the scrappy I-make-crap-happen-when-someone-else-already-messed-up role.  He was/is very good at this role.  Unfortunately, tough to let him stay in this role without someone else stepping up to be the primary option.

Loved the D.  Loved.  Loved.

The only thing I loved more than the D last night was Jamar.  Fantastic.

Still #TeamAngel It's gonna work out wonderfully too.

I think Rod was told to be the leader because nobody thought Jamar was capable of it. But we're seeing a new Jamar now. He says he wants to be the leader and so far he's showing it. If this continues, he's our primary option now.

man tortuga really's found his niche with these wrap ups, great stuff.

for some reason the flow of our offense didn't annoy me last night.

I've been pretty happy with our offensive flow so far this year. The ball movement has been really good. We've been consistently getting the ball inside. It's our shooting that needs work. But so far, very promising, IMLBBIQO.

Loved the post feeds and kickouts from gip. The open shots will eventually fall. When they play D and scrap like they did yesterday, they will stay in games against everyone but maybe KU no matter what the offense looks like.

god that game was so JYCatty it makes me giddy.

i liked Cassidy's line from his recap: "There were no style points awarded and no flashy strings of wonderful ball movement. Martin has never been too interested in those things, anyway."

No doubt, a huge Po that we hadn't yet seen from Frank's teams.

When was the last time we looked that junkyard-y? Was awesome to watch.

Like someone said above, the junkyardy-ness makes me not care about missed layups/FTs.

Am very excited after last night.

No one important told Rodney that he needed to be a leader. Frank has hinted & said multiple times since the summer that Jamar and Doc are the leaders.

That's prolly because Cassidy was the only reporter there.

Don't know if I've ever heard Frank as happy as he was during the post-game interview.

Positively. Giddy.

I'll take it as a good sign.  :ksu:
