losing teams, coaches and fan bases always have an "If we" excuse don't they?
"If we" just had that one recruit
"If we" just would have gotten that one call.
"If we" had a better qb.
"If we" would have made that field goal.
This was the case with Jim Wooldridge for KSU basketball. He had a bunch of "If we" crap.
Ron Prince had the same attitude. All the shirt tucks bought into that "If we" mentality . . . "If we" would have just gotten __________ to show up on campus blah blah blah we would have been good.
Coaches that know how to win, just win, period. LHC Bill Snyder knows how to win . . . with marginal talent. He doesn't make excuses, he just wins and his players buy in.
KU got rid of their no excuses coach (Mark Mangino). They didn't fight hard enough for him. I guarantee that they would have fought much harder to keep Bill Self given the same circumstances. It's their loss.
If you want to win, then go hire a winner. Mike Leach is available. Year 1 he would be winning.
