Never (NEVER) gets old.  I'm glad we don't have to listen to this anymore, but I love hearing it from other coaches.

The classic "we can't fire the SLTH yet" column.

Why? Because Nebraska can’t afford to blow up its program for the third time in ten years. Not on the basis of (potentially) a single losing season. Not with Missouri, Kansas State and, yes, apparently Colorado finding its footing. Let Iowa State do that. Osborne has to see the Sadler era through to a logical end.

Tom Osborne isn’t going to fire Doc Sadler after this season. So just flush that wish from your mind, even after Nebraska's 91-51 skunking at Texas.

For one thing, he’s Tom Osborne.  

what is that supposed to mean?  Tom Osborne is so smart he has to agree with this brilliant column?

The Huskers are blissfully young, and not quite talented enough to just take over like Texas’ bunch.

I want to see another 2nd half Colorado type game tonight. I don't know if I have ever seen more dunks in a game than the CU game in the OOD on Saturday. We went from looking like the Washington Generals to looking like the Harlem Globetrotters in one game. I hope to make the Nubbs look like the Washington Generals as we Harlem Globetrot all over them tonight.

Nothing says "Nebrasketball" like this post.

You know, I don't actively follow basketball. Kudos to the girls and shame on the boys. I haven't watched a single game or paid attention to stats. But it could be a simple fact that these guys just aren't as good at shooting and making baskets as other teams. Simple as that. A lack of the most fundamental and important natural talent that a basketball player should possess to be successful. You know, I played one year in middle school because I was kind of tall and a decent athlete. But I couldn't shoot worth a damn. Needless to say that basketball wasn't the sport for me because of a lack of a basic talent. Sure, you can teach technique and you can practice and that will make you better, but if you don't have it to begin with, you are ultimately doomed.

Kind of like sprinters - some guys are just naturally fast. You can have a guy who is a great athlete, who is not fat or stocky, and you can teach him the correct technique of how to run fast (run on your toes, etc), but some guys will just never be fast.

Of course, I may be talking out my a$$ here in regards to the guys basketball team. Maybe it is all mental like the 2007 Blackshirts.
