I don't think the main ones can be lowered, but I've them for kids' games set up the backboard that hangs from the regular rim, with a lower rim attached to that new backboard.  Seems pretty flimsy.  I'd expect MIR to Darryl Dawkins Chocolate Thunder the eff out of that thing.
