Anyone else surprised Canada didn't play (maybe he did late when I quit watching)?
Loved Irving powering up an inside point early, but then he kept losing the dribble whenever he tried to go in the lane and his three-point shot has disappeared again. Russel shows flashes of promise but his defense and ball handling suck. Doc just too slow and with him in the game our offense is pushed much farther out.

made your post smarter.  fixed the grammar, style and spelling a little, too.

Spradling has awful ball handling skills for a DIVISION 1 POINT GUARD? psh. This staff is frustrating me. Will we ever land a good recruit? ( not those 3 star hard working tough nosed defenders)

Doc just needs to provide viable minutes at PG for 10 mpg or so.  He's the best option when Pullen isn't at PG. Really, the first 30 minutes were okay yesterday and few of the TOs during that time were caused by Pullen at PG, they were caused by stupid basketball decisions by a variety of other players.  We had a ton of TOs that were really unforced; just our guys playing too fast, making poor decisions, or trying to do too much. Not much of that can be changed by PG play.

And I like Sprads, but after he slipped and turned the ball over on his first possession he looked uncomfortable the rest of the game and I really didn't want him out there.  I thought Russell looked okay at times and Irving really struggled.  They looked like young guards not handling things well, which is unfortunate. No doubt we've got to get better play out of them.  But I've also come to the conclusion our best option is Pullen at PG 25-30 mpg, then probably Sprads the other 10-15 minutes.  Irving and Russell have to give 15 or so minutes of viable SG minutes per game, and they didn't yesterday.  Pullen was our best guard and Russell probably our second best in yesterday's game with Irving and Sprads both playing poorly. We've got to have three of those guys play decent.

Selby no irving or Wall, more like Spradling.

Goes on hot streaks, can't defend well yet, no quickness to the basket and makes freshman mistakes. Difference is that Spradling makes open shots and doesn't lead the team in attempts.

GPC poster comparing Selby to Spradling.

You know, I'm really starting to believe our fans don't deserve good basketball.

Agree Fan.... we have to get better and definatly more consistent play from all three of those guards.

And as a team as a whole ...... we have to get better at eliminating wasted possesions.  21 flippin turnovers and some shots we don't want guys shooting... (JO 15 footer, Wally contested jumper from base line,   JamSam took a 16 footer with someone right in his grill.

Seriously, had we just done a better at that, instead of up 49-41 with 9 to play, maybe we are up 57-41 at that point.

Even though the final 9 minutes were disturbing on defense, holding any big 12 team to 41 pts in 31 minutes on their home court is a positive.  Just too bad the offense was so sloppy for most of the day

whatever deficiencies he apparently has that are keeping him from seeing the floor can't be any worse than what we've put out there so far.
