Doc just needs to provide viable minutes at PG for 10 mpg or so. He's the best option when Pullen isn't at PG. Really, the first 30 minutes were okay yesterday and few of the TOs during that time were caused by Pullen at PG, they were caused by stupid basketball decisions by a variety of other players. We had a ton of TOs that were really unforced; just our guys playing too fast, making poor decisions, or trying to do too much. Not much of that can be changed by PG play.
And I like Sprads, but after he slipped and turned the ball over on his first possession he looked uncomfortable the rest of the game and I really didn't want him out there. I thought Russell looked okay at times and Irving really struggled. They looked like young guards not handling things well, which is unfortunate. No doubt we've got to get better play out of them. But I've also come to the conclusion our best option is Pullen at PG 25-30 mpg, then probably Sprads the other 10-15 minutes. Irving and Russell have to give 15 or so minutes of viable SG minutes per game, and they didn't yesterday. Pullen was our best guard and Russell probably our second best in yesterday's game with Irving and Sprads both playing poorly. We've got to have three of those guys play decent.
