A new set of expectations
« on: December 04, 2010, 03:01:03 PM »
This season has been unpleasant for many of us because we are not seeing a team worthy of their ranking and hype, it has been very adeptly pointed out by hbbiq bbsers that these
expectations were indeed too high.

It is time we put forth some new level of expectations for 2010-11 that are more in line with our current lot in the basketball world, new expectations that won't have me kicking my dog
quite so much perhaps.  I say we take this new reality to the nation so that they can get behind us once again as the darlings of america and not some overated team from kansas.

this is the exact mentality the led us to believe that Jim needed one more year.  Please jump from the ship now.

this is one of the hallmarks of a Frank Martin team.  I'm not concerned, but then again, I'm going to call this season a success as long as we stay in the top 20 all year and make it to the sweet 16.

This team will get better.

No they won't _Fan.  Spradling and Irving will fail to improve.  Pullen will never break-out and feel comfortable this season.  FT shooting will continue to be worst in all of college basketball.  Wally will continue to be a complete non-factor, and Asprilla will continue to be Luis Colon 2.0.

The Cats don't play smothering defense, cause enough turnovers, or hit the glass hard enough to be a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA's and that combined with shooting -- both FT and FG -- that is unlikely to improve because of the reasons presented earlier will hamper KSU the entire season.

KSU BBALL =  :flush:
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

my new hopes are as follows

1. stay ranked

2. get one from ku

3. no losses to inferior teams, the list is getting shorter

4. win at home

5. win 2 of 3 from tex, baylor, and atm.

6. try like hell to pull of a conf. or b12 tourney championship

7. get 3 seed or better and fight like hell, elite eight would be phenomenal.

well, like ya know I just thought last year  elite 8 and no legs left for butler or maybe final 4.  Then we lose Colon and get Asprilla who everybody was excited about, then we lose dom and get wings that I hoped could defend and shoot,  I didn't think losing Denis would be this big, I was hoping Wally, grudz, nick, JHR, would progress like Jamar did from fresh to soph.
I was totally out of control and I apologize to each and every one of you for that, so thats it, embarassing, yes :babywillie:

Oh and the worst part, the expectations were, get this, I thought they would win the big12 reg season, maybe the conf tourney too, be a one seed, cruise to the elite 8 and thought it would be more of a coin flip from there.  I really thought we would lose only about 4 games going into the ncaas Duke, maybe uk, maybe mu, and maybe once in the conf. tourney.

IN hindsight, these things were not that far fetched if I would have known how horribly wrong I was about Clemente, and also didn't really understand that Franks teams had to be crappy early in the season, I honestly didn't know that was a law.  I Suck

it’s not like I’m tired of WINNING, but dude, let me catch my breath.
