Net effect is minimimal; Wazzu better than I thought but Gonzaga worse.  Both look like decent, but not great wins. 

VT, Zaga, and WSU are all around 50 in kenpom, but RPI is much lower.  87, 136, and 118 respectively. All will likely end up as Top 100 RPI teams, maybe 1 or 2 will be Top 50/bubble teams.

UNLV and FL look to be great RPI games, sitting at 10 and 11 right now.

I had Wazzu with a huge week of games KState and Zags. Nearly went 2-0. Impressive at 1-1. WSU can finish in top four in Pac-10.

Agreed that if you win them most of the time it doesn't matter as much, but SOS/quality wins in the OOC do factor into your seeding for the tornament.

What was KU seeded the last three years?

KU's seeding was a reflection of their Big 12 dominance and the fact that they won an obscene amount of games.

However, in 08-09, KU lost four non-conference games to Michigan State, Arizona, UMass, and Syracuse.  All on the road or at neutral sites.  They were a #3 seed due to rebounding and winning the Big 12...again.

The other three of the last four years, they've been a #1 seed.  Of course, they won at least 30 games per year prior to entering the NCAA tournament in each of those seasons, and they only suffered one non-conference loss (@ Tennessee last year) when you put all of them together.

the whole "it doesn't matter who we play" thing is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  if kstate's season turns out to be the best that could be reasonably projected at this point in time, it won't matter.

I'm not really sure what the whole point was when you asked.

I'm assuming the point was that it was due to KU's conference performance that dictated their seeding and not their non-conference.  Which, in a way, was true.  They had no worse than a three seed in the last four years.

However, if I'm reading this thread correctly, your contention is that it doesn't matter what your non-con looks like when it comes to NCAA seeding, and based on KU's seeding, that is incorrect.  In seasons where they didn't lose a non-con game, or they lost only one, they were a #1 seed.  In a year where they lost four, they dropped to a #3 despite winning what was their fourth straight Big 12 title (I think; I'm not going to go back and verify that.).

If I'm incorrect in where you're going with this, let me know.
