You guys put way too much thought into beans and rice. Soak the beans over night, drain, throw in the crockpot on low in the morning. Set the timer on the rice cooker for 20 minutes before you get home and you have enough time to get out of your work clothes before you combine the two. I will forever love my host mom in Costa Rica for teaching me how to make beans and rice.  :lick:

Why don't you take your dumbass over to the bland, nasty bean board.  This thread is for the art of creating delicious cajun red beans and rice board.

Thanks.

You do need to rinse the beans though and strain them with a collander or something because there are often rocks in the beans and some dirt, too.

Yeah, we are all starving marvins and need all the nutrition we can get. Also trinity, spices, ham bones and sausage contribute almost nothing to the flavor, so you are correct.

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

soaking beans now (not red),  will definitely discard the water.  don't need or want the water.

Pretty sure there are a few insecure chili bros in this thread.

It's cool.  Red Beans and Rice doesn't want your festival(doesn't need the affirmations, already knows it is cool).

Your festivals are safe.
