V Young, Heisman Winner?
« on: August 31, 2010, 01:26:02 PM »
Grumblings that UT will ask the Heisman folks to award the '05 trophy to Young if they end up stripping it from Bush.  Thoughts?  Would Young have won it outright if it had been awarded after the MNC game?

Close IMO. Bush and Young both had incredible years. But if it is stripped then you have to give it to vince.? :dunno:

They won't.  They'll just leave it vacant.  Just like the AP Writers will leave their championship that year vacant.

V Young already said he wants nothing to do with the award if it is stripped from Bush.

I'm fine with it being vacant if Bush is ineligible. He was the best player on the field that year, regardless of whether or not he was paid for it or w/e.

It would be Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to give it to Young if bush is stripped of it.  Also, it is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) to strip Bush of the award.

Vince Young, Heisman* Winner

Hell, while we're at it...

Darren Sproles, 2003 Heisman Winner**

I think he can claim it from Jason White at the Norman, OK Price Chopper?
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

I don't really like going back and vacating wins/championships/awards etc.  It just seems silly to me.  But, there do need to be some sort of punishment for breaking the rules.  Yeah, USC is being punished but the player who is responsible walks away unharmed.  I also hate it when a coach gets caught cheating and simply moves on to another school, relatively uneffected.

I guess you gotta admire White for playing on 2 wooden peg legs but he just didn't impress me all that much.  Yeah, he had some good numbers in the regular season but our D made him look pretty terrible.
