it's a horrible decision.  he knew the deadline, he knew he would forfeit eligibility.  completely his decision.

who's going to respect their little pretend deadline from here out?

maybe someone who expects to be academically suspended for the first semester and thus ineligible, and suspended for the first nine games of their second semester. 

they made the right decision for the student athlete involved.
