both companies i worked for provided power tools.  this is pretty standard in commercial construction.  residential is more byopt

hmm, that is diff info from what my mainly comm electrican buds have told me.  Do you take them home with you or are they kept on site?

Mostly stay on site. The smaller company I worked for had some people that bounced around and they would take things home or have a company truck they kept it in.

Both were pretty adamant about people not using personal tools.
