Lol, at the "fire currie now" people.  MIR, chingon and I are "fire currie 5 years ago" people.

Currie shold be fired no matter how Weber does next year.

I'm also in this camp, but better late than never.

Nope, this camp is for those who've been consistently saying for almost a half-decade or more that currie should be out on his ass.  And chingon and mir are two of our head counselors.

Good find and I know what you're doing here. Yes, I forgot how rough ridin' furious I was about the Jamar/Frank thing, time softened me, thanks for the reminder, I needed it.
BUT
I remember all the years and years K-State and K-State athletics were run like the family farm and I'm scared as hell we're going to go back to that if we hire another AD right now, with this U.P. I remember our shitty football program, our cornpone simple lack of media savvy, our lack of give a crap about basketball. Guys in the 90s-early 2010s we had the most non descript athletic department in America despite a baller ass football program. I don't want that again.

Can we just get a strong leader, with high expectations for our programs and the identity of the department, but who isn't a social awkward weirdo?

THIS IS ALL I WANT GUYS. I'd do it but I don't think I can get central and NW Kansas farmers to give me money.

it's almost like people forget every athletic director we've had with the exception of steve miller and john currie were terrible*

*no offense to bk (rip) but he was writing contracts on bar napkins

but yeah, set up a lynch mob and let's take currie down

but also yeah, people aren't forgetting that our ad's have sucked, they just don't know any better

History says no.  We've joked about Currie doing the numbers/books tasks only w/others doing human things, but it's probably too late for that sort of reorganization.

I don't remember which thread FWN posted it in but the fact we are now a new coach every 6 years type of bb program is balanced by the fact we haven't had an AD leave to for another AD job since???

Off the top of my head - BK went back to the admin side, Weiser went to the NCAA, Max retired, I can't remember the guy between Miller and Max, Miller went to Nike and thats I all I know.

I am not sure what that says, maybe it is more common than I would think.

it says we hire ad's that don't have the option of going somewhere else other than pheasant hunting and there's a collective of short sighted 'gloids here who want the best one we've had in any definable length of time, gone

It's always interesting when people don't recognize that it was our former pres, our football coach and wealthy alums were major catalysts in our recent facilities progress.  Coach and boosters particularly on New Vanier.  Pres on WSC.

There are other AD's out there that can do such things.

Weiser had no vision and Urick was afraid of his own shadow but they did what Wefald and Snyder told them to do.

It's a new dynamic now at KSU, and we can't have an AD that reportedly, coaches aren't big fans of.

Coach and boosters particularly on New Vanier.

you, yourself, said many times how much coach didn't want to mess with old vanier

I knew he would never get fired but this is much better than him hanging around until the General takes permanent R&R and extending oscar and/or another laughable basketball coaching search.
