The 97 Fiesta was a great time, I got so many bags of free chips it wasn't funny

Yes! It was hot as hell though and I got crazy dehydrated eating those chips while pregaming on that godforsaken asphalt.

You'd be happy to know they have since covered most of that big parking lot northeast of the stadium, while most of the other parking has been developed into office buildings and apartments. I think the cover on the parking lot is actually solar panels, as well.

Thank God, that was brutal, I can't imagine tailgating there in September.

The Holiday Bowl vs ASU was the only bowl win I was able to see live. Really fun game.

I've just gone to Mill and been inside/on patios with misters. The walk to the stadium at ~7 is bad enough. I'd decline any true tailgate invite until at least mid-October

The top three are indisputable and can be ranked however, the others are essentially the same to me, the 2002 Holiday Bowl was our best opponent of those five, Suggs was a complete monster and the best player we faced in any bowl game win or lose.

I was just looking up Garrett's stats, since he is a consensus top 3 pick at this point, but my god are they laughable.  33 Tackles this year, 8.5 sacks. 4.5 of the sacks came against UTSA.  His game against us wasn't the outlier, it was practically the norm.

I never even noticed him unless the announcers were like "oh he's back out on the field....."

Sun Devil Stadium is just horrible to begin with, much less the heat and surrounding areas.

Yeah the 12 Fiesta or 03 Fiesta would def be #1 had we won IMO. Maybe even the Cotton against Arkansas too.

2012 yes, not the 2003

Anyway

1. Fiesta 97
2. Cotton 2000
3. Copper 93
4. Texas 16
4. Holiday 95
4. Holiday 2002
4. BWW 13
4. Holiday 99

The top three are indisputable and can be ranked however, the others are essentially the same to me, the 2002 Holiday Bowl was our best opponent of those five, Suggs was a complete monster and the best player we faced in any bowl game win or lose.

Suggs was definitely a beast, no doubt.

Others who were unblockable and deserve honorable mention were Mike Mamula of BC in the Aloha and Dwight Freeney of Syracuse in the Insight.com. Both of those guys changed the game much the same way Suggs did.

Offensively, Ray Rice at Rutgers and Drew Brees as a freshman at Purdue are the ones that come to mind first.

That McNabb guy was pretty good.

Truth.  I had to go back to look at a box score to see he put up about 350 yds of total offense. Not sure why his performance didn't stick out in my mind...

Probably a combination of us being pretty much in control of that game, Bishop outplaying him, and it being on NYE with me being PAK'd at about a 8/10.

Did anyone else hear the story about him and Bishop meeting before the game and McNabb asking Bishop who he was? I don't know if it was true or not but it fire young SdK up.
