Yes, yes they are and they're damn smart for doing it
There’s no college coach telling players out on the recruiting trail that they’ll get a one-year scholarship and, with good luck, they’ll have it renewed
I bet Sadler is all, "you know this scholarship is only for 1 year, and if you redshirt and work really hard you'll get your chance next year"
