what a horrific story, but i don't really understand. like the guy just followed her into her dorm and then up to her room and then into her room. like, i don't get it?
That story is absolutely horrible but that's what I was thinking too as I read it. The story as written doesn't make sense. I mean I have no doubt it happened as they found DNA and he pleaded no contest etc. But there is just no way he just gets into Ford without someone not stopping him to have her or someone else check him in. Or if she felt uncomfortable with him following her at any point her not simply going up to the front desk, or to RA's etc. as she got there to have them get the police there to get the guy to go away. Or scream bloody murder, or knock on doors, or anything really once she gets to the Ford anyways. There have got to be hundreds of girls there at anytime, surely someone would be there to come out and assist or at least deter. She had already been living in college for 3 months, surely she knew how everything worked in Ford by then, at least enough to keep the situation from happening. FWIW I was also a freshman in fall '07 and lived in Moore during that time, and went to Ford a few times to visit friends and know how I had to be checked in be escorted and everything. I also like a few other posters here never even heard or knew of this happening until this article.
