Movies/Shows that are improved with this one weird trick
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:01:00 PM »
Sometimes when I am watching a movie and it is "ok."  Not necessarily bad, but just missing something, I decide to kick things up a notch by imagining that a character in the movie I'm watching is actually the continuation of a character from another movie.  Make any sense?  I'll give you a few examples.

Father of the Bride was actually born a poor, black child in Mississippi

Creepy Seymour Parrish in One Hour Photo was actually Mrs. Doubtfire after the inevitable divorce.

The Tom Cruise arc
Risky Business->Top Gun->Cocktail->A Few Good Men

There is also the Inception corollary:  a movie that is actually taking place within a previous movie

The Matrix is actually the sequel to Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise actually takes place within the mind of Hunter S. Thompson as played by Johnny Depp dreaming poolside at the Flamingo.
