-Whitehead gone is a huge loss. 22 straight starts. Will definitely affect them. Talked about importance of a veteran safety. (we can relate).
-Will Snyder do anything different b/c of this? No, at least not before the game. Bill will stick to the way he prepared. But, will make in-game adjustments based on what players are telling him and/or what the see during game.
-Give us a breakdown on Auburn: Gary: Offensively, they are good. Backup QB better passer than Marshell, just not as smooth (don't know why he led with that comment). Backfield is as good as last year's. Lead nation in rushing yards...both between the tackles and outside the tackles. That's a sensational stat. They'll run, run, run.....then beat you with the option pass. Corner has to be VERY disciplined. So good inside, that they eventually get you with the big pass. (Williams and Coats). Very hard to defend. K-State must find a way to defend this machine.
-K-State offensively: Arkansas moved right through Auburn...just ran out of gas. Didn't play well after lightening delay, but Arkansas was able to move the ball on the ground early. K-State must stay balanced. As long as K-State doesn't find themselves down 14-0....and avoid penalties.....they can stay balanced and move the ball. They have to be efficient with their drives.
-SEC is the most regionalized conference. SEC teams rarely leave the South. Good for K-State. Manhattan will look identical to the plains of Alabama.....but it's just the travel part that will be biggest effect.
-Prediction: Wish K-State would have played better at ISU, because K-State can get it done. I like the old Big 8...and I like older guys like LHC Bill Snyder, so I really do want to see K-State win. But, I'll have to go with Auburn.
