Anyone who thinks winning a bball natty is harder than a football natty is delusional. One loss in football, especially late in the season, pretty much diminishes your chances of even making it to the title game. To win a natty in bball, you just have to get in the tournament and get hot at the right time. Look at '88 KU. They were a 6 seed.
Winning six games in a row in a one-and-done format is much more difficult than winning a division of the SEC and getting placed into the national title game. Football doesn't have a true national championship. It's a joke.
Winning 6 games in a row in a one and done format against bad seeds makes it a lot easier. KU played a 16, 8, 12 and 10 seed to make it to the Final 4 in '08. I know you beat two 1 seeds in the Final 4 but still, the road to the Final 4 was pretty damn easy and is a lot easier than Bama or Auburn going 13-0 in the SEC (including SEC title game).
Do you really think KU in '88 was the true national champion? I don't think so.
