Michigan's Fab Five: ESPN Film coming out soon
« on: March 03, 2011, 09:15:09 PM »
Was anyone else a fan of these guys as a kid?  I loved them.  The book Fab Five by Mitch Albom is great too.  I'm excited.  Anyone else?

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

I really liked the Fab 5. Was very disappointed when they lost. Also was very much a UNLV bandwagon fan.

12 year old nicname used to steal his dads dress socks for 6th Grade YMCA hoops games.  Also used to mimic Jalen Rose free-throw shooting style and generally didn't realize he was a white kid from the middle of rural Kansas.

Also still have my Jalen Rose replica Jersey and Michigan replica bball shorts.  Sadly, they no longer fit.

Incredible what they did as 17-18 year old kids. Especially when even the top players stayed 3 or  4 years.

I absolutely love this documentary. Unfortunately, it also brings up painful memories of GRCOAT and what could've been, even if we had just paid for OJ

My dad is from Mich. As I kid I followed his home state teams and I loved the fab five and nearly cried when they lost.  My classmates would mock me over the years and pullout the time out motion to give me a hard time.

Last year when Mich. Beat KU in the tourney I took out my Chris Weber jersey from jr. High and slipped it over my kstate shirt and rolled around town pissing  off squawks.

probably enlisted the parental strategy of buying their kids jerseys three sizes too big so that they'd still fit years down the line.

yea, eff off. my parents were poor growing up.

Yep it still fits. Snuggly by the way.

My body frame hasn't changed much since then and I'm not skinny either.

I have a Jalen Rose Michigan jersey. Used to have a Tractor Traylor one and the shorts to match. I lost the shorts recently.

BTW, I heard they re-released the Air Force Max shoes that the Fab Five wore, but with updated technology and material.

They were a 2013 release, good luck finding them now.
