Bill was unavailable bc he was busy sending a telegram to Jim Mora.
maybe this is like the boy who cried wolf, except the first 70 times, there actually was a wolf, so everybody trusted the boy completely. but then the 71st time there was actually no wolf there and the boy is off somewhere LOLing to himself
