Stan Weber Recap (810 Radio border patrol)
« on: January 17, 2014, 01:13:07 PM »
-Let's talk about last win first:  Other guys stepped up.  Thomas Gip in foul trouble, when that was going to be their game plan.  Wesley showed up big and I love his game.  He's under appreciated.  Tall, long, and athletic allows him to guard and rebound....and in OU game, score.  Wesley's three pointer down six late in game was probably difference in game.  OU dared him to shoot and thought they got K-State to shoot the shot they wanted us to.

-Games decided by 10 points or less........K-State is good under Weber.  This team is doing very good with protecting home court.

-Need to improve on offense.  Most of success is purely defense.  Also, can't turn it over as much when the offense is struggling like it is.

-Weber is very honest.  Not a lot of coach speak.  After OU game, Weber mentions Kansas again when most people would prefer forgetting about.  That's because most K-Staters are hoping to make tourney, oscar is truly thinking how to win another Big 12 championship.

-WV:  Up and down swing.  Some very good wins (or close games), some downers.  Probably should of beat OSU at home.  Then, not emotionally ready or TX and TX pounds them.  Last year, not good but battled.  This year, they are back to playing WV/Bob Huggins basketball.  They have plenty of rest (played Monday) and will bring it tomorrow.

Stanbot also pointed out that BWebbs is 13-1 (or something like that) in the fOOD.
Wondering who is running this hot dog stand and seriously considering heading out for tacos.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

25-2. 10-1 in Big 12 games.

And I love Stan, but his analysis of WV is not very good. They don't really have any good wins, but yes they have competed. Because of their defense I don't see this as a Huggins-type team at all yet. They may get there this year, but they have a ways to go. They give up 1.12 ppp against Top 100 teams and that's not very good.

I'm also not a huge fan of using 10 pts or less games as a barometer of much of anything.

The offensive efficiency absolutely must get better, namely shooting.

Stan's supposed to blow the opponent in these things.  It's his job.

Nope, can't be replicated..
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever
