Yeah...today's six carries likely means that he won't get to 1000 on the season.

Think he probably has ~740 or so.

Yeah, strange. I think a bit of overcoaching since TCU does have a pretty good run defense.

And part of the problem is the package for Sams was mainly with Nemechek/Gronk. I'm guessing Hubert was on the field very few snaps with Sams.

I'm so angry that they don't use Hubert with Sams, it's so stupid. I'm amazed that Sams has any impact at all running the same 2 plays over and over.

Yeah, its clear the package for Sams is reduced compared to Waters. Similar plays concepts, and we still use a lot of different formations, but it seems we've pretty much settled on Sams as a change of pace QB featuring a lot of QB leads, a few read options, a few run/pass seam routes, and a few drop back passes. 38% of Sams Big 12 plays after the WVU game were QB lead/power plays and I'm sure that's stayed the same in the last 2 games.

I'm not sure what the reason is, but I still believe my premise from early in the season when Sams wasn't throwing it much; its all about trust from the staff. I think the trust in what Sams can do has grown, but I don't think they trust him with as much of the offense as they do Waters. Granted, they don't trust Waters to run QB lead/power much either, which is smart, but clearly the size of the offensive package for Sams isn't the same as it is for Waters, though there are similarities in what each QB runs.

I'm guessing today that over 50% of Sams' plays were the QB leads.

I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Sams will not be given the whole playbook to work with, but I really don't understand why we don't get him out on the edge more often. It's really infuriating to use a weapon like that as a battering ram into the middle of the line.

Our TE's have proven that they really can't seal off much of anything on the edge. Mcdonald has regressed and apparently so has trujilo.

Seems like Sams has a lot more confidence in his ability to throw than Snyder does.  He audibled twice today to pass plays, one of which was the over throw to thompson.  It seems like the only times Sams gets traditional passing plays from the pocket is when he audibles to them.

57.7%, 15 plays out of 26 plays that Sams was in the game.

Also, Hubert was in with Sams on only 5 out of his plays. (19.2%)
