Dear Editor:
This is for whoever took our stone K-state rock off our porch. You didn’t just take an ex-rival’s mascot rock, you took a memory from us. We lived in Manhattan, Kan. when Chuck first started with the telephone company. Both our daughters were born there and one still has a business there. Several family members have gone to school at K-State.
We like the University of Nebraska. Dr. Nedrow, the eye doctor, is affiliated with the university and he’s helping get Chuck’s sight back!
We’ve been gone a lot these past couple of months due to Chuck’s carotid and open heart surgery. Plus, he had a stroke and has had a lot of rehab in Lincoln. He is now back in Grant for more rehab. All he wanted was to get back home. I haven’t been able to tell him about the rock being taken. If you haven’t destroyed it please bring it back. It would mean a lot to us.

SD, start asking around about this.  Maybe one of your Husker friends knows something.  If that doesn't work out, maybe our next gE.c mission could be to outfit Chuck and Bobi (Bobi Brown!  ) with a new k-state rock?  Chuck seems like a straight shooter and the whole family seems EMAW as all get out.

You never know when Nebraska people are going to break the law at your expense, but when it happens, we EMAW'rs need to look after our own.

It's too late for the rock.  I have no doubt that some football kid took it in a moment of poor judgement and weakness to do something totally out of character with it(attempted murder of preg gf, prob) and it is now in their AD's bottom desk drawer for safe keeping until said kid learns how to navigate the straight and narrow path of manhood.
