Can we offer him the HC position at KSU? Pay Weber to just go away and never return?

Without a doubt.  It takes a special kinda coach to beat La Salle.

it's mandatory that said coach has a pulse

Greg just matched Frank's greatest accomplishment, a year after losing 4 starters.

Think about if you coached a team that returned 4 of 5 starters and couldn't win one game against a 13 seed?  How rough ridin' shitty of a coach would you be?  eff, I can't even imagine it because it's so rough ridin' shitty.

greg marshall has proven to be a good coach, for sure.  but when you look at last night's game versus la salle, it was his players that made the difference and got the shockers into the elite 8.

now, one could argue that part of a coach's job is to bring in those players, and greg certainly did that.

I would say Greg is a great coach more for scheduling LaSalle than for recruiting his own players.

Look at last year's first round tournament results.......and look for a 4 or 5 seed that was upset in the first round..........and then tell me the name of the school.......and then tell me the name of the coach.......

yeah, he's great.........how many conference titles has he won? I am asking, cause I really don't know, but I could guess.  His kriptonite is Creighton......ours is KU

Didn't Tan Tom have good tournament runs too?

w/ respect to Tan Tom v Greg, I would imagine that Greg understands that you can’t just mine Junction City for talent, so I give Greg the nod over Tom.

Not really, he's 5-4 vs. Creighton the last 4 years, this year he swung and missed on clinching at least a share of the MVC regular season championship by losing games they shouldn't. He might have lost to Creighton twice this year, but he's still 2-3 against the amazing Doug McDermott in the last two years, one @WSU the other @ Creighton. He took Winthrop to 7 NCAA's, won the NIT two years ago. Admittedly he still needs to get more conference championships @WSU, but he knows what he's doing come postseason. However, in terms of who they got set up to get to the Elite 8 this year as a 9 seed, they really lucked out, Gonzaga was definitely an impressive win, but Gonzaga also was benefiting for feasting on the Big West and a down big 12. Not even counting Pitt because they are garbage in the NCAA. I'll give him props to getting to the Sweet 16, but getting to the Elite 8 in this instance was not as impressive, giving their competition, which once again begs the question, how the heck did we lose to La Salle. If he gets past tOSU (which I'd give them about a 35% chance) then he's earned himself at least to be talked about in the same league as Shaka and Brad.

Greg Marshall is definitely the best basketball coach in Kansas.  I give him the slight edge over COY oscar Weber.

Marshall was a genius to throw it in to his post guy against La Salle. With their biggest guy injured you would've thought we could have tried that as well

My buddy knows him very well. Says he is cray-cray, but awesome. Intensity is over the top. A great coach. Kids love him. Also something about hitting a player at Winthrop. I view these all as positives. Hire him.

Marshall was in my top 5 or so candidates when we hired Huggs. I also had Lowery and Cronin on my list. I don't remember the others.
