Woolys recruiting sucked. Smoke and mirrors, recruited to many Jucos so he could never make any kind of depth. Only landed a handful of high school players that made a difference. This is another example of why the star system sucks balls.

and the comparisons to Tom,  he only brought obscure no-name players that would have been better served to have committed to divII schools.(I now raise my arms to protect my head from the small sharp objects and rocks that are now being thrown in my direction)  Seriously, a comparison to Tom is unfair at this point.

He peaked early, muddled around with NIT teams, then completely crashed. Valid comparison possibility.

No K-State coach ever has, or probably ever will again, recruit as badly as Asbury.

Weber is closer than you think

Wooldridge looks superior so far - Cartier and Hayden were both 4 stars that had multiple big 12 offers.  Asbury at least signed Dies who had a number of Big 8 offers IIRC.  Asbury totally mailed it in at the end, at least Wooldridge didn't do that.

Before he coached his first game at K-State, Asbury brought in Elliot Hatcher and Tyronne Davis. The next year Shawn Rhodes and Manny Dies (I know, I know). I wish oscar was recruiting this well.

Yeah, he sucked as a coach at K-State after the second year (during which he turned down an open at Cal after interviewing). Duane Davis' injury and then getting booted for his third DUI, second in Manhattan, really hurt. But then again, you take a kid like that, you take your chances.

Whenever somebody says "burn it down" I picture a couple goEMAW elites going on strike outside Bram with open flames, pitchforks and signs, kinda like when Huggins left....

Then ending it all by setting the BTF on fire :shakesfist:

Hmm.  I guess I simply forgot about all the good stuff in light of Asbury's 30-mile recruiting radius towards the end.  (DAX!)

Understandable.
