In baseball, announcers will often say "the tie goes to the runner". There is no such rule. There is no such thing as a tie.
I hate it when people say "line duh scrimmage" because it's "line of scrimmage" and there is no "D" sound anywhere

That's a pretty werid one, CF3. There is such a thing as a tie, if it is perceived to be so in the umpire's POV. If the umpire perceives a tie, he calls it in favor of the runner. What is so hard to grasp here? I mean are you talking about nanoseconds of difference, so technically it is not a tie? I don't get it here.
