paint, wallpaper, wallpaper, paint.  does it really matter in the grand scheme of things?  probably not but it's great that we have this bbs to exchange such ideas.

some wallpaper, some paint?  some paint and a lot of wallpaper?  i don't know the answer, who do i look like, david bromstad? (i wish!)

regardless of where you fall on this issue, i won't judge you. i won't pretend that my way is better, that it better be my way or it's the highway.  because that's just not the case.

just like maverick and goose said in Top Gun, "I feel the need—the need for speed!"
This was enjoyable.

Really?

I thought it was stupid.

i hear from my interior design friends that wallpaper's making a comeback. i have no idea how good of designers they are though

I'm sure wallpaper will make a comeback once everyone forgets what a pain in the ass it is to remove. It will be all the rage for 10 years until people go to take it off and once again realize that wallpaper is the dumbest idea ever.

I'm actually installing wall paper in my office next week. Dry Erase wall paper to be exact. I'm actually very  :excited:

They said, "hey doom_Catz, we can just get you a dry erase board." I said no... I want the whole wall to erase.

Just found out last week that my cube has a dry erase board running around the whole thing. Obviously, I've been writing stuff on it since.

No DIF solvent, hot water and sponge. Score, soak, wait 10 min, soak again, start peeling. I get the main wallpaper section off but the backing never comes off.

Its some sort of shitty waterproof wallpaper that doesnt let the water get absorbed

I had two rooms that went like this: paint on wallpaper on paint on wallpaper on paint.  People are rough ridin' lazy.  I stripped it all off (good house karma to remove wall paper and not paint over it) and the rooms look great.

Also to all you wallpaper removing rookies, Tide has an enzyme in the detergent that helps loosen the paper.

I would but I don't think I would be of much help as I would constantly be on the lookout for Southern Copperheads.  Actually, that might not be a bad idea.  I could just drink beer and eat BBQ while maintaining snake watch thus ensuring your wallpaper stripping safety.

My grandparents moved into a house in the early 80's and one of the bedrooms was decked out in some totally bitchin' 70's Star Wars wallpaper.  I was devastated when they eventually took that wallpaper down.

In the early 80s I had some bitchin' Star Wars wallpaper.  Looked like vehicle plans and schematics.  Parents would only let me have it on one wall in my room though.
