Thought it was hilarious listening to Bob Knight when KU went to the Triangle and 2 and Bob Knight's can't identify it.  "Watch the guards, oh, they are playing man to man."

Hard to believe he's only a couple of years removed from coaching.

Yes, you do. Sitting at mid-court on the floor means that you will need some basic knowledge of both teams in order to identify thinks like a new defense quickly. Of course Knight can't even be bothered with keeping track of the small things like who's checked into the game so this is really no surprise.

He had some embarrassing moments.  Not recognizing the triangle and 2 when KU has done it the last 2 seasons against us just shows he does no prep work at all, and as wes said, you'd think a coach of his pedigree would notice.  Though I could see where it could be a bit more difficult if he didn't pay attention to monitor to see it from floor level.  And this wasn't the only instance of not recognizing some basic stuff that most good color guys do.  And its an absolute embarrassment to ESPN that the man hasn't learned how to use a telestrater, if anything the guy could show some very good things with that that most fans don't recognize, but he obviously hasn't learned to use it and refuses to do so.  This would be a great way for him to overcome some of his deficiencies.

I used to not mind Knight, and think some of the bashing was unwarranted.  After watching 3 straight games of him doing color, I realize I was wrong about all of it.  He is horrible.  He does make an insightful comment on occasion, but his shitty anecdotes and his commentary of "They need to get a stop here and get a basket on the other end to cut into the lead." 

My friend compared him to Madden, but Madden dispenses more intelligent insight per game (iipg)than Knight even comes close to, making up for the obvious.
