After Frankgate and the Great Bubble Caper I wouldn't trust Currie to hire my lawn keeper.  (Unless he was to hire Weber, that would be a solid hire IMO.)

After the whole "we don't settle for scraps" line, directly followed by hiring Weber, I just don't trust the guy making another hire.

Currie will hire the squeakiest win the right way guy on the market.

Edit:  coach/manage the right way guy.  Currie clearly doesn't give a crap about winning.

I don't have an issue with Currie making the football hire.  It's his priority.

This is the hire he wants to make, and he's building the war chest to ensure money isn't the issue to get the guy he wants.

war chest LOL

currie miscalculated the frank situation and then burned a lot of bridges when he tried to fix it with his basketball hire. i expect that, short of a miracle, they're bridges that won't be rebuilt.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

If oscar wins and buildings keep popping up, he'll get whatever support he needs.

Well, the biggest facilities project in our history is going up, and we'll most likely get into the next phase of the football stadium renovations as well.

And oscar has the talent to win enough in the next couple of years to keep the giving momentum going.  If he recruits well enough, he'll win enough to keep the money coming in for Currie.

Our basketball expectations aren't that high.  Besides, football is what drives giving, and that's going to go well in the next few years, or at least well enough to keep the money coming in.

People forget that we are, for the most part, a school that cares more about football than basketball.

ya that was pretty much my point.

there's nothing about oscar's past that would suggest he's going to win anything of significance.
