What Frank brought the most to KSU was national exposure...
« on: March 26, 2012, 09:16:30 PM »
you can't buy that with just about any successful coach.  It was the personality (yelling and staring attracted them more than anything) that had them wanting more KSU on the tubes.

Anybody know who can bring that type of exposure in addition to wins and good players?

The only answer is Pearl.  I think I'll listen to some Eddie Vedder tonight.

Academics is a stupid word.

Academic schools are synonymous for being rich, powerful and exclusive, three things Kansas State is not.

So when people throw the word "academics" around, that's really what they are referencing.

you won't miss it if Pearl is hired in a few days.

But I will say the thought of Buzz Williams doing the cha cha in Allen would be delicious.  His Curly look might coincide well with the 3 stooges movie coming out.  Perhaps it is a sign?

Manhatter, you keep beating that Pearl drum. I challenge those who are afraid of the sanctions that come with Pearl to detail exactly what those sanctions are. They aren't that bad.

the idea that currie would hire pearl is ridiculous, and only serves to provide him with time and goodwill that he does not deserve.

yes, i know he already did.  he gave martin an extension at one point too.

i'll miss the national exposure most of all.

Franks face during ESPN montages, Frank on the desk during the tourney after we lost a game in the tourney, and Gottlieb tweeting that Frank is an underrated coach.  And we had this all for basically free.
