It's much easier to win a NC in basketball than football, so that sounds about right.
Link?
64 CBB teams make the postseason and are allowed a shot at winning a national championship. In football, a K-State team could conceivably win all of their games and still not get a shot at a national championship.
If K-State wins all their games they will have won a national championship.
So I guess if you were talking about a mid-major team, well yeah it's much easier for Butler to win a NC in Bball, than say Fresno State to win in football.
I just think it's more difficult to put yourself in a good seed, and then beat 6 consecutive good teams (with probably 2-3 opponents in the top 10), than it is to run the table on your conference and win 1 game with a month to do nothing but prepare for it.
Room for error is greater in the basketball reg. season, I will give you that.
