Crazy First Four .... Let the Madness begin
« on: March 13, 2012, 11:09:02 PM »
1st game =  Western Kentucky was down 16 with under 5 minutes to go in the game..... and goes on a 22-5 run to end the game, winning 59-58

2nd game =  Iona was looking like Loyola Marymount the way they were scoring the ball.  28 pts in the first 8 minutes.   Then later on they scored 25 pts in 4 1/2 minute span.    And they had a 55-31 lead with 4:30 left in the first half.   Then BYU went zone and Iona could not score to save their lives.   Only scored 7 pts in the next 16 1/2 minutes and BYU cut the lead to 62-61.   After Iona got the lead back up to 6, they only scored 2 pts in the final 5:08 and blew a 25 pt lead and lost 78-72

Wonder if the rest of the tourney will be so  :horrorsurprise:   and :runaway:

Great first games to watch. Iona looked like a crazy good team for the first 16 minutes. To bad they had to play the next 24. This guy was laughing during the first half that everyone was saying they were the least deserving team in the tournament. Then I was brought back to reality and figured out why everyone was saying they probably shouldn't be in the tourney.

I was glad either them or Drexel got in.  I could not help Miss St, Seton Hall or Northwestern getting a bid

I wonder how many people felt like geniuses when they made Iona their "UPSET SPECIAL!!!!" on their bracket at halftime and then how Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) they felt in the 2nd half.

Meh.  Games like tonight's will just give the NCAA more ammo for their campaign to further expand the field.

96 or 128 really doesn't matter to me as long as we move to a final 8 instead of final 4.

all 13-16 seeds should have to go through a play in game.  can you imagine 16 games like last night's games.   :driving:

I agree, it would really be win-win. Let all these low-majors have a chance to win a NCAA game and get rid of half of the terrible automatic qualifiers right away.
