two doors
« on: March 05, 2012, 04:05:00 PM »
Let's say you are entering the building below, and someone else is a split-second behind. If you hold the door for them (and you should), do you let them pass you? Or are you also the first to the next door, too?

If you are, do you hold for them on the second door and let them pass you, or do you repeat what you did for the first door?  :dunno:

Always let them pass at first door. Let them reciprocate on second unless it is a lady then I grab both.

I let them pass me and I am not the first person to the second door.

Also, not sure if this will change anything, but let's say this is the building you're entering:

If that is the building it is probably a homeless dude or hippie or yuppie behind you so I wouldn't worry about it.

This unless I'm in a hurry. Then I'm kind of a dick :(

Always hold both doors and stay in front.

Do you still do this when you have to pull the door open rather than push?

I always do the "pass the batton" method.  Not much help but it makes me feel better about myself.  Also you don't have to make any kind of social interaction and you usually get a thank you out of minimal effort.

always hold doors for chicks.  if someone is right behind I'll hold for them.  I'm never rushed or in a hurry so I'll just bbs on my phone at the dmv if I need to hold for someone.

Hold both doors and let them go in first, then walk right past them in line and say "you should have made an appointment like me" with a Cheshire cat smile.

I like to open doors and hold doors open for people almost all the time. When people don't say thank you I like to say "You're welcome!" really loudly and sarcastically. Trust me... it's loud enough and sarcastic enough that everyone anywhere in the vicinity understands what just went down.
