I think Mark Wahlberg would be just fine playing himself. Picture this:

Mark Wahlberg takes down the terrorists on his plane, then gets word that another plane has also been hijacked and is going to be flown into the world trade center. Mark flies his plane over the top of the other plane and dives onto the plane and climbs around it to get inside through the wheel compartment. He takes down the terrorists on the other plane while a cool-as-a-cucumber Stonestreet guides a nervous passenger who has never flown a plane in his life to a safe landing on a busy interstate. Wahlberg lands his plane like a boss at the airport. World trade center avoids catastrophe and Wall Street is renamed Wahl Berglevard
