When you break out the advanced stats several things stand out. Even though we were better overall on the offensive boards, we lost it by a large margin in OT. This allowed WV to extend too many possessions which is magnified when each team only had 15 chances (combined/both OTs) with the ball. We simply allowed too many shots and didn't make enough in the 2nd half and OT to win the game. WVU also did a much better job of driving/getting fouled, especially in OT. WV out-JYCed us when it counted and we had to have someone step up and make a shot and we didn't. The fact that we didn't make a 3 pointer in the last 14 minutes AND overtime of the game really hurt us. And then you had the officials "taking control" of the physical aspect of the game in the 2nd half making things ugly for everyone. Each team having a 65% or better FT rate for a half just makes for some out of sync basketball.
