Never underestimate the power of the media's love for "traditional powers" like USC...  Hell, some of those fuckers were already starting to pimp Barkley this weekend based on his performance vs Colorado.  I can only imagine the lovefest Barkley could get if he plays well and USC beats Oregon and Notre Dame, both of which would occur within 3-4 weeks of the Heisman vote.

I understand the run that Barkley could make to get back into mix, but it will take a combination of him having multiple great games and Klein having multiple bad games. Plus as a west coast team that is pretty much out of the NC picture he won't get as much attention, even playing for USC.

I understand the run that Barkley could make to get back into mix, but it will take a combination of him having multiple great games and Klein having multiple bad games. Plus as a west coast team that is pretty much out of the NC picture he won't get as much attention, even playing for USC.

I sooo wanna buy into the fact that our boy has it all but wrapped up barring a major collapse.  With that said, my gut tells me that the media wants to start pimping Barkley if he plays well vs Oregon and Notre Dame... ESPECIALLY if USC wins both of those games.

No.  In my perfect world, there is a constant stream of Qhatz strolling across the stage at this year's ESPN College Football Awards as well as at the ESPY's next spring.

Not bargaining... Agreed on the former.  Win out and in BCS game.

The Heisman, however, is a popularity contest that kids from "traditional powers" on one of the coasts tend to have an advantage in.  Barkley was the pre-season favorite and could likely come up and win the damn thing if he knocks of UO and ND in November.

LOL, the media loves our nuts more than anything in the world. The idea that the media wants USC to beat out a KSU kid is laughable. Snyder is now an adorable, fun quirky old man to the media that used to hate him, as all the media now hates Kiffin and Saban for being dickheads. Lots of Kiffin butthurt in the media.
