ESPN called USC's win a "Statement win for the Pac-12" at the end of the game. How is beating a 4-3 team a statement win for a conference?

Their gold helmets look like they krylon spray painted them.

Believe it or not I think we are one of the only teams to pull off the metallic helmet.
