More concerning - why was he able to kick it out once, but never again? I mean, obviously he has the ability, no? I saw it with my own eyes.
He's obviously being told to kick it higher and toward the sideline to reduce long returns. Why Sean thinks that's more effective than a touchback I have no idea.

The object is when you know you can't get the touch back you place the ball around the 20-25 where the upman has to field it. upmen are usually FB, LB, and other guys with no hands. The point is 1. upman may fumble because they have no hands 2. they won't run it very far 3. you limit where they can return it and area to work with. Point 1 happened on on our kick to them after our first TD, led to a FG.
