He didn't say "terrible."  He said that it "sucked" because of youth and inexperience and that it was the skill position players that made the offense so good.  That's his comparison to this season.

Skill players won't mean crap if the line "sucks."  If CK doesn't have time to throw, we're in trouble.  If there aren't holes for the backs, we're in trouble.  Luckily, it looks like Simon would be the only guy to start this year that hasn't been with the program for a while.  We'll be fine.

dude, you're the worst poster at interpreting things.  Not one time did I say we had a terrible OL in 1999.  I didn't even say we'll be better this year on the OL.

I think both the '11 and '99 OL suck compared to '97, '98, '00, '02, and '03.

"sucked" is probably too strong of a word to define '99.  They struggled and had plenty of inconsistency.  They were eaten alive in a number of games.  Remember, our schedule in '99 wasn't murderers row as far as DLines.  Okie Lite, Baylor, Mizzou, Kansas, Iowa State, and Texas Tech were god awful up front defensively.  UT wasn't nearly as formidable at DE though they had really nice DTs.  BTW, you were correct about Barnett being a soph in '99.

I played against him my senior year of High School and he is very very quick. He is definitely not D1 talent though.

Wissman was and is overrated. And Luke, you didn't play against him your senior year. He had already graduated High School. From my experiences facing Wissman, he was pretty good, but not even close to being great. Not like he'll see the field anyway.
