It was insitutional with them.  I don't like the open seating.  If they changed that I'd fly with them.

Well, pretty much anyone with a 2nd grade education and a computer can master that process and use it to their advantage. I love their open seating.

southwest is the best domestic airline if either your origin or destination is not a top 10 metro area. period.

Criteria for "best?"

best seats, best flight selection, best magazine, best legroom, best service, etc.

not always best price, though.

The open seating thing is much better now, with the "line" that they set up. It makes it a much more orderly process than before.

part of the beauty of flying is guessing what kind of plane you will get.

and most elites would call a 737 pretty small. flew a 767 from Den-SFO once and was in heaven.

Southwest is #1 for domestics and its not even close.

Also, flying isn't that bad...except when the idiots in front of you have no clue how to go through security or pack their carry-on.
