OK, cashier, I tried to explain it to you. I really did. But if you want to run my credit card and charge me (minus) $5.57 for my food, even after I repeatedly tried pointing out your mistake, then go right ahead.

i went to a convenience store to buy something today and it was $4.10. i pulled out five one dollar bills to pay. the cashier said "you don't have ten cents?" i said no. she said "oh. well i think i do". then went to the leave a penny take a penny thing. not the one by her register but the one by the other register and promptly scooped out a dime and gave me my dollar back. i thought of you. not sure if she was inexperienced though.

Took my kids to an arcade a while back.  Asked for change for a dollar, and was given change for a $20

There hasn't been a question asked in this entire thread.

Yep, arcade basically loses operating costs on the $20 and that is it.  Pretty fantastic.

Should note that it seems like arcade employees are, on avg, the most unhappy employees of any service industry biz.

Actually, he didn't. The store manager forgot to go back and enter in all the tips from the previous day.

Or the server could have lost the receipt.  Also, the self checkout lanes at Dillons tried to give me an extra $40 in change once.  (Thinking that the person in front of me probably got 40 in cash back and forgot to take it or something.)  Anyway, I brought the extra cash up to cashier person who monitors that area.  She acted like I was rough ridin' stupid or something before taking the money back.  As I walked out to my car, I was thinking:  dumbass, you should have just taken the $40.  Anyhoos, the next day, at a different Dillons, the damn machine gave me an extra $20, which I assumed was a sign from Baby Jesus, so. I put thaat crap in my pocket.  :gocho:

That reminds me of the time the ATM I went to was giving out double money.

I thought that was a rare occurrence when it happened. Then I googled "ATM gives out double money" and realized it happens quite a bit.

Was at The Webster House a few weeks ago. $85 total, $17 tip. Tip wasn't on my statement. Is it possible to call them and give CC# to give tip to waitress or do I have to stop by with cash? Hate screwing a good waitress and good food. Their pretzel rolls are amazing.

The waitress took the cash out of the register and put the credit card slip in the drawer. She got her money.

Some smaller places only run batch reports like once a week because it saves them some money.  But, after a few weeks, that would have shown up on your statement by now.  (I've been worried about this before after having a few too many beers and waking up without a cc receipt in my possession.  The initial amount always shows up pretty much immediately but it sometimes takes awhile for the add on tip to show up.)

I've never kept a CC receipt for anything in my life that I wasn't planning on deducting from my taxes.  I leave both copies in the credit card book thing.

Yeah, I should probably do the same thing considering that I'm just going to throw it away when I get home anyway.  It's not like I actually use them to balance a checkbook or anything.  (Also, does anyone still balance checkbooks?)

This happened to me at the Commerce ATM in Aggieville. It used to give out money in multiples of 10, but one day it was only giving out 20s. You ask for 10 it gave you 20, 30 it gave you 40, and so on. Got $10 out 4 or 5 times. When they fixed it you couldn't get multiples of 10 anymore.

Yes, and I'm reminded of this every time I'm behind an old lady at the grocery store.

Friend got drunk at a local kansas city watering hole one sunday afternoon and decided to steal the bars fully decorated 12ft christmas tree. He looked up the Bar owners name on his iphone then had a friend back up a truck  to the front of the door. Guy walks up to the bartender and says "Hey I'm here to pickup the christmas tree for (Insert Bar Owners name), he needs it moved to his place for a party tonight" . New bartender looks up and says "Uh ok". They walk out the front door with the tree under their arms, put it in the truck, then drive off.
