I'll let you interpret these stats however you like...

@kso_FAN are you putting out the five factors stuff you did last year?  Are Connelly's team profiles available?

I'm not sure how I'm going to do that. Connelly's team stuff or advanced boxes are not available this year since he jumped to ESPN.
You referenced havoc rate.  I'm curious how you calculated that...My eyeballs told me our pass rush was kind of lacking on Saturday night -- where are you finding havoc or are you calculating that on your own?

My own calculation.

Also, I will be at Fatty Fest this year, going for the 3 peat....

I would like to hear more about our cat havoc rate

Havoc Rate is tackles for loss (including sacks), forced fumbles, pass break ups, and interceptions divided by total defensive snaps. A pretty cool stat IMO from Bill Connelly. Last year K-State finished at 13% which ranked like 100 or so in the country.

Hey guys...

How many yards are we going to get on the ground against Bowling Green? 300? 400? A Bagillion?

I'm guessing around 300. Maybe not as many on the ground, hopefully more through the air.

It was impressive to run for that against Nicholls (even if they are only FCS) when they were still putting 8 or more in the box to stop the run.

_Fan was always so good at talking me off of/on to the ledge.  I mean, if Steve Dave says we suck, I'm just like "meh".  If _Fan says we suck though  :shooturmouth:

I don't think we suck. I thoroughly enjoyed game 1 of the Klieman era.

The offensive display was much better than I anticipated. I looked into the Messy offense before the season and I had some apprehension. He definitely passed the test. Using a bunch of formations and personnel, a highly efficient offense (65% success rate before garbage time, better than any game last year), and some really nice games from Sky and the backs. I want to see some more big plays in the passing game and our receivers not to drop passes.

Defensively we were solid. A couple forced TOs and a havoc rate of 25%, pretty good. The one drive after halftime wasn't ideal, but overall I liked what I saw.

Also, no big plays on special teams and a missed FG. Brooks almost broke one I guess, but I still want to see big special teams plays.

New podcast with Danny Clinkscale and Kevin Kietzman!

I'd say just bring back Danny to take over the 2:00 slot, but that's not going to happen.

I like the dial up noise

Very satisfying.

Meade Pizza Hut still has a Buffett. Everyone waits like at the starting line and when the HS girl brings out the new ‘za everyone sprints in there. MORE SUPREME? WTF?

JC still has the buffet. Pretty elite.

The certain thing I remember is planning to meet up with a group of friends and then just hoping everyone made it. There was no texting/calling on a cell phone to make sure last minute; you just show up at the meet up place and wait until everyone is there.

What was better... Wendy's buffet or KFC buffet?

I say KFC.

How many players have we had put together back to back big 12 first team seasons? I think it’s only Jake and Dean.

Is this a sign of a great player or a weaker conference?

The Big 12 lacks a top dog on par with the ACC, SEC, or even Big 10 this year, but top to bottom the league is still very good. Still rated 1 or 2 in any and all metrics out here.

As for star power, probably a fair point. A couple guys in the mock draft first round and a few more in the 2nd, not a ton of star power. If Dean had remained healthy this year and last I have to think he'd be getting 2nd round mentions.

oscar's goofiness has evolved to incorporate his newfound big daddy outbursts that are both hilarious and badass, so personality-wise he's fine with me now. basketball-wise this team is tough as eff in its own right and the carti windmill/The Flush's confidence are fistpump-worthy developments in themselves. and the wins have finally come, which is the most important thing.

i mean trim 3:16 for sure but i think this team is extremely likeable if you give them a chance.

This is really well said.

Next year will be interesting, I think Carti as "the man" can be pretty darn good. We'll see.

If X is back, with Carti, Mike, Mak, Trice, SNW, plus newcomers I can see oscar coaching up a bubble team.

Really fun player to watch. 1st team in back to back years is impressive, especially with most of this year on a sore foot.

I feel awful for him that this type of injury happened again. He won't get a chance to leave the type of legacy he could have because of something completely out of his control. It sucks.

However, he was part of a league title team and a really good 4 year player. Probably not quite rafter worthy IMO, but will be one of my favorites along with Barry for a long time.

It is pretty crazy. A bunch of slow defensive teams.

good thing he was playing in a blowout with under 2 minutes remaining.

I'm guessing that he (and everyone else) just thought he had some foot pain like he has off and on the entire season, but last night/this morning it didn't respond to treatment like it normally does so they checked it out. Probably the joy and excitement of winning the conference during the 2nd half and after the game subdued any extra pain that he might have had until later as well. In any case, it sucks for Dean if he has to miss more than a few postseason games.

We took a share of the lead at 4-2 in league play and never gave it up. Credit to Tech for finishing really strong and sharing with us, but leading the league for 2/3 of the conference season made for a fun ride.

Not one bit.

Once it was clear oscar was going to get his shot to rebuild this program after the Foster mess, I decided that hating him wasn't worth it. K-State basketball has given me a ton of good times in the time since and continues to do so. I thoroughly enjoyed watching us clinch a championship with my youngest son last night as he wore his custom made "Diarra Pickles" t shirt (his idea). I'm looking forward to spending a good part of next week in KC watching the Cats and hopefully another run to break a long drought for K-State basketball.

I have never really watched this senior class, having only watched one complete KSU basketball game in the last 4 years (court-side with Kat Kid for the KU game 3 years ago), but isn't this the oscar way?

The mid major style build up one good class, then suck for a few years, rinse and repeat? That's more than what most schools ever get to experience, but isn't that about the high water mark in terms of expectations for oscar.  Won't this team suck next year?  I look at the stats and no one else does jack crap except for these seniors.

For years and years this is what we all wanted though, at least many of us. K-State was never going to recruit at the level needed to be a reloading program. Sure, we had the Huggins/Dalonte run, but that recruiting wasn't ever going to be repeatable or regular here. Frank spoiled us a bit because he had only 1 real rebuild year and that resulted in an NIT, then he kept it going for 3 straight NCAAs, but the regression was there and a rebuild year (or years) was bound to come if he had stayed. His late recruiting was basically on par with what oscar is doing; getting a few 100-150 ranked guys and piecing together others that are just outside that. Its a winning formula here if you have a coach and staff (and fans) that will stick with it.
